Hello all,
I have a small request to make of anyone who might be able to contribute.
These forums are a great source of education about the game. However, the EVE community has developed a lot of its own language and abbreviations, and for anyone who isn't familiar with this vernacular, extracting information from some threads gets a little difficult. Some things are pretty intuitive and can be figured out from context (things like ganked and BC (Battle-Cruiser)) but others are a little tougher to figure out.
I'd like to request that, if there already isn't a thread/alternative source where this information can be found, this thread be a place for an EVE abbreviation/acronym/slang listing.
If something like this already exists, please, show me the way :)
Thank you in advance.

Edited by: Occasus Vim on 30/03/2006 00:01:32 That is -exactly- what I was looking for. Many thanks. This will help, but it does not appear to be exhaustive.

I'll piece together what I can that isn't in the Dictionary list.
R&D = Research and Development RMR = Red Moon Rising Devs = Developers BC = Battlecruiser Indy = Industrial ship? Inty = Interceptor? NOS/nosses = Nosferatu module CO = Covert Ops CPR = Capacitory Power Relay HAC = [I still don't know what this is, despite searching] SP = Skill Points Ganked = killed (I think) RP = Research Points OR Role-play Aggro = [I don't know what this is either]
There's lots more, but that's what I got off the top of my head. Any help?

Slowly figuring out a few more...
WCS - Warp Core Stabilizer Which leads to 'Stabs' - Stabilizers.
What are instas?
Ftw or 4tw - For the win?
Reading these forums sometimes reminds me of those days when I had forgotten to study for my Latin translation exam.

TS also appears to be used for 'Team Speak'.
Good on ya for the list, McTest. Thanks to everyone for contributing... and an even larger thanks to people who type quickly and aren't too lazy to make their posts/speech largely intelligible :p
